After several years of more or less frequent encounters, two friends find themselves together one autumn evening, to share a few chords and a simple dinner. During that evening, they discuss music and exchange reflections on one and a thousand projects. While their ideas tend to point in the same direction, it is only a few months later that they will lay down the base for what will become Osmosaic.
Osmosaic is made up of two musicians : Mario Landry and Viviane Lamy. Their interest and their curiosity for the arts in general will be the pretext for their desire to want to create a fertile terrain which will allow them to express their own inner worlds. Their process, essentially self-taught, tends to evolve towards works which leaves them free to explore and combine a diversity of tools such as music, photography, drawing, graphics design, painting and video.

Mario Landry grows up in a working class sector of Montreal. At the end of his adolescence, the buying of a guitar from a friend, leads him to discover the pleasure of making music. A few years go by and in 1989, with the help of a friend, he forms "Clockwork 7", his first group. Three years later, after few shows, the venture ends. Too absorbed by the management of a small enterprise, music is shelved. Then comes an artistically unproductive period which will last six years. In 1998 he takes private classes in guitar and singing. During that period, he shares with an old member of Clocwork 7, Christopher Cousineau, many evenings where they mutually enrich their respective musical universe. These encounters, although periodical, will remain a major influence for him.
